By the time we’d walked from the beach at Church Cove on the Lizard, around the headland to Poldhu Cove we were pleased to sit at the beach cafe and watch the various activities going on as people enjoyed the bank holiday. It was sunny but with a chill wind on the cliff tops so sitting hugging a mug of hot chocolate was perfect.
But you can’t sit still for long on a Cornish beach, or I can’t. There’s always something that inspires you to take a photograph. This time it was the bubbling stream meandering down the beach.
I say bubbling but in actual fact it was quite fast flowing in places and kicked up these bright waves that sparkled in the late summer sunshine. Getting into the right position to capture the height of the wave with the sun dancing off it, without ending up kneeling in the stream was in itself quite a performance…probably much enjoyed by those I’d left sitting at the cafe!
