Many of my images are of natural things (the sea, rocks, wild flowers are favourites) but sometimes its something man-made that catches the eye and tells a story.
Here is a close up detail of the plastic on the side of a small fishing boat. It protects the wood as pots are hauled over the side time and time again. Every scratch and mark is a narrative of hard work.
This image is unusually gritty and the techniques I used to process the original shot have accentuated its grunginess and edge. It’s quite a dark, hard result that says more of the danger of fishing.
An image of the fishing boat is also shown.
